DREAMS & NIGHTMARES

DREAMS & NIGHTMARES

This space and sound installation presents the idea of «wandering» as a metaphor for an inner and outer journey into the unknown - through listening. The core of the work is a large, dark room through which the visitor can orient himself only by means of sound, light plays and sporadic photo projections of people on the run.

The audience views the images projected onto the walls from a platform that stands in the space like an uncontrolled floating raft. The resulting distance between the images and the viewer stimulates a reflection on one's own positioning in vis-à-vis of the fate of others.

DREAMS & NIGHTMARES was commissioned by the Swiss Institute of Rome (ISR) in co-production with the Romaeuropa Festival to create a space of reflection about the migratory phenomena and their impacts.
